Reading - Week 11

Reading,

For reading this week we were working on Visualise using all of the senses, and talk about how this enriches meaning. For this we had to chose a text to read I chose, the seeing Hawk. After we did this we had to choose a peice of the text and write down all of the senses out of the five that we felt.

Reading - Week 10

Reading,

For Reading this week we were learning about how to making connections - use prior knowledge to connect to the text. Make connections between texts and own life experiences, using more sophisticated texts. For this we had to first pick one of the books to read, I chose once a Panther after we finished reading this we had to create a DLO (digital learning object) to portray things that we could relate to in our own lives from the book. For writing this week we were focusing on using a variety of sentence structures beginning and lengths to give effect. For this we had to use our narrative from week eight and pick six sentences for the task. book Harry Potter and for this I wrote ten true and false questions and a postcard

This week we have been looking at narrative's again. First we had to choose the path of either in search of a goal examples: The hobbit and finding Nemo and Myths and Legends and the other path we could choose was there and back again examples: Alice in Wonderland, Where the wild things are and Wizard of Oz. After this we had to make a plan for our narrative. After we had done this we needed to start the draft our our narrative.

For Writing this week our goal was to confidently shape ideas for affect. For this we had to write a descriptive story about someone I did this collaboratively and we wrote a story about Catbug. Here is the task.

Kaupeka Reading Challenge - Week 8

Reading

For reading this week we've done something different. Our goal was to read a range of different genre's. The Teachers set us the challenge of reading three different genre books and then making a DLO (digital learning object) of the book. The first book I read was called adventure kingdom this genre came under fantasy. This book was about two kids that bump into each other at a run down circus park. For this book I did an acrostic poem.

For the next book I read how to spot a Sasquatch this genre came under comic book. In this book there was a kid called Jay. Jay and a group of other kid's went on a trip to forest to go camping. Jay to this time to try and find the mythical creature, Sasquatch. For this book I did a wanted poster.

For the last book I read a comic called Cat Ninja: the silent master of Kat fu this genre was superhero fiction. In this book their is a constant rivarly between two animals: Cat Ninja and Master Hamster. For this last book I decided to do write down all the different animals in the book and their traits. Here is the task.
