Top Team

On Friday a few weeks ago Top Team came to our school and
year five to eight participated. There were a series of challenges
and we were put into groups to do them. My favorite activities were the water activities because it was hot on the day. I would like to do it again next year. because it was a fun way to end the week and we got to build up our teamwork.

Has Top Team ever come to your School?

Tough Kids

On the 20th of November year three to eights did a fun obstacle
course called Tough Kids. This was an event that was part of many
schools so it was fun to mix and make some new friends. The
obstacle was made in south new Brighton and had inflatable
obstacles and water obstacle. I would definitely do this again
if we could.

Reading Create Task.

For our reading create task this week we had to annotate a
poem and put what we visualize. Visualize using all of the
senses and talk about how this enriches meaning. For this
task we had to pick five to six sentences and comment
about what we visualized when we read it, here is the annotated poem.

Do you like poems?

Attitude Presentation.

Hi there, A few weeks ago we had an organization come in
and talk to the year 7/8 hub about
how we change physically
and spiritually as we grow
older. At first it felt a bit uncomfortable
but after we got to know the people that were teaching us and
got a bit more deeper into the discussion it didn't feel that
uncomfortable any more. We had two days of this and after the
people went we did some more study on it including Hauroa
which is the four sides of us.

Sport Reflection.

For the past few weeks, every Thursday we are doing 4 type of sports, Korfball, Softball, Cricket and Lawn bowls. I liked doing these sports because these sports are different not like Rugby, Football, Basketball and other sports like that. My favourite sport out of these is Korfball because it is like Netball and Basketball put together.

have you ever played Korfball?

Camp relfection.

On week 3 in Term 4 we went on camp to Wainui. we went to a place near Akoaro and we hiked for about 2 hours until we got to the Wainui park camp grounds. We started off with getting are cabins ready and then eating lunch, after that we started to start off our activities.

1) What was the most challenging thing on camp?

I found challenging having to do things that I didn't want to do, this included me having to toughen up and do what had to be done. I didn't want to do co-steering on Thursday because I was cold, sore an tired from the other activities, but Miss Powick made me and I really enjoyed it.

2) What my favourite part was?

My favourite part of camp was doing orienteering because a few friends of mine ( Blogs here ) where crossing the river using the stones and steeping stones and we all fell int the river and got wet. I also enjoyed working with other people and making new friends. I also liked how we got lots of freedom and choice around what we were able to do.

3) What did you learn on camp?

I learnt quite a few outdoorsy things and also learnt that sometimes you should go outside of your comfort zone to experience new things that you might enjoy.

4) I am grateful for being able to go on camp and also having free choice around tings like our bunk rooms and also not just camp being around having fun but also at the same time we were able to have a good learning experience,

Have you ever gone one school camp, if so what was your favourite part?
